You will find more than 100 games to play on the sites listed. For most of these math games, there is a goal that you can set for students to achieve. Determine a goal that your students can realistically achieve or work toward. When you try these games, make sure you answer many questions wrong as well as correctly. You want to see how the website handles incorrect answers to ensure that students are really playing the game. The Multiplication Games link takes you to multiplication.com, which has links to just about any multiplication related website that is available.

Who thought that doing a simple subtraction worksheet can be fun? Put it on the computer and your students will think it's a lot of fun. These three sites provide interactive online worksheets with self-checking. The four basic operations may be chosen as well as options for time and number of problems. Addition. Students play against other students across the internet. They must answer as many problems as they can within one minute. What score do you think a student in your grade level should achieve? What is your highest score? Academic Skills
Here are several games from addition to ratios where students can play on their own computer against other students in the class. Grand Prix Multiplication and Jet Ski Addition are great games for up to four players. The Tug-O-War games allow up to 8 students to compete together. Single-player games to look for: Meteor Multiplication and Alien Addition. In all the multiplayer games, one student creates a game and the other students join their game. I recommend that the students make a private game (with or without a password). This will keep people from jumping in and out of games. You MUST go through the process of playing this game BEFORE setting the students free to play. |
